Ring size guide

Every ring at House Of 18th Jewellery is one of a kind and comes in one size, so it is worth checking yours before you buy. Sizes on our product pages are given as the EU size plus the inner diameter in millimetres, for example EU 56 (17.8mm inner diameter).

Ring size chart

EU size Inner diameter Inner circumference US size (approx.) UK size (approx.)
48 15.3 mm 48 mm 4½ I
50 15.9 mm 50 mm 5¼ J½
52 16.6 mm 52 mm 6 L½
54 17.2 mm 54 mm 6¾ N
56 17.8 mm 56 mm 7½ O½
58 18.5 mm 58 mm 8½ Q
60 19.1 mm 60 mm 9¼ S
62 19.7 mm 62 mm 10 T

The EU size is the inner circumference of the ring in millimetres. US and UK conversions are approximate, so if you are between two sizes, go by the millimetres.

How to find your size

Option 1: measure a ring you already own (most accurate)

Take a ring that fits the finger you want to wear the new one on. Measure straight across the inside, edge to edge, in millimetres. Find that number in the Inner diameter column above.

Option 2: measure your finger

  1. Wrap a thin strip of paper or a piece of string around the base of your finger.
  2. Mark the point where it overlaps.
  3. Lay it flat and measure the length in millimetres. That number is your EU size.
  4. Check that the ring would still slide over your knuckle; if your knuckle is wider, choose the next size up.

Good to know

  • Measure at the end of the day, when your hands are warm. Fingers are smaller in the cold and in the morning.
  • Wide bands sit tighter than slim ones. For a band wider than about 5 mm, consider half a size up.
  • Your size can differ between hands and between fingers, so measure the exact finger you plan to wear it on.

Not your size?

Because each piece exists only once, a ring in your size can be made to order. Use the "Not your size?" request on the ring's page, or email houseof18th@gmail.com with the ring and your size. If you are unsure of your size, write to us and we will help you work it out.
